Poster Contest

I almost forgot to post these, but I took part in a poster design contest back in February for the local fixed gear bike company, State Bicycle Co. They lead and sponsor some of the bike events around the Phoenix/Tempe area which I usually take part in. Their bike models are very stylish and I jumped at the chance to try and win a free bike which was the grand prize for the best poster. Posters were all voted on by fans for the first week of March from State Bike's Facebook page. I unfortunately did not win, but I accept defeat since a lot of the other entries were very well done and I at least made it to the final cut. Take a look below. I did both posters based on bike models that have both sadly been retired from the line-up. My favorite of course being the first one which is based on the ABACABB model. If you are a fan of the old Mortal Kombat game, then you will know exactly the meaning behind the name.

New PD Logo[s]

I've just reworked the PixelDrunk[s] logo for the site and decided to show the final piece. I felt like the the original was a bit unfinished. So now I've made a slight upgrade to it.

I also have an alternate that I'm still thinking of using. Still not sure of when I would use it but I like it anyways. Here it is.

ASU Tee

I just recently finished a design for a t-shirt that will hopefully be used at ASU's 2010 homecoming event. Utrecht, the store that I work for, will have a booth there and we wanted to have a t-shirt to give to students that stop by our booth. So my manager asked me if I could come up with something for it. The idea came to me pretty quickly and I wanted it to keep it simple and fun. I'm hoping we'll be able to use it, but if not, then at least I had another reason to create something.

PIXELDRUNK[s]

It's been a while since I've posted anything here. That is mainly due to my lack of design gigs, but I have turned that around in a way. I've been working on a new blog and webcomic with a friend. It's something we planned on doing for a while. Our main focus is to add our opinions to many topics going on with today's technology including video games, film, electronics, etc. If it's an electronic device or can be watched/played on one, then we want to talk about it. I designed all the custom graphics that you will see on there. It's been a tough project since I am not experienced with PHP, HTML, or CSS. The site isn't completely ready yet, but I'm determined to have it ready for the masses very soon. Check it out at pixeldrunks.com.

Alternate Design

Just wanted to post one of my favorite designs which actually wasn't chosen by the client, but I still like it anyway. I mainly like it because it's really simple in its overall look and it kind of gives off the feeling of a retro graphic.
